I had heard of Pinterest but it wasn't until my friends started raving about it and I watched this video by Megan Auman of Designing an MBA that I finally decided to sign up. I started by creating a few "pinboards" of the kind of photography that interests me. After hanging out on the site for several long periods of time, I wound up with a few boards of images that not only interest me but I definitely feel inspired by. I think they will come in handy when I'm struggling to recall a photographer I liked or I'm having a creative block.

So, you got me Pinterest, I'm hooked! And judging by the people I've found on there and the ones who have found me, I am definitely not alone.

Are you on Pinterest? What do you think?

Words of Wisdom for Creative Professionals

I love Ira Glass, the mastermind behind This American Life. When I asked a teacher at school a few months ago for advice on how to succeed in a photography career, he played this video. It stuck with me and I've watched it several times since then. The main point he makes is that when you start out, what you're doing will not be as good as how it is your mind but that doesn't matter- keep at it and it will get there at some point. "The most important possible thing you could do is do a lot of work. Do a huge volume of work... the work you're making will be as good as your ambitions." ~Ira Glass
