New Products in the Shop

I have been pretty busy in the past week restocking my Etsy shop in time for the holiday shopping season. I have some new designs that I'm pretty psyched about that I wanted to share here-

(I'm still offering my Fenway Park set too)

I will be participating with Boston Handmade at the JP Holiday Fair on December 3; all of these new items will be for sale (along with a few others). Come by and see them in person!

2011 Desk Calendars...

...are now available in my Etsy shop! I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty excited about these babies. Much like last year's calendar, this one was a labor of love and I think it really reflects the work I've been doing lately.
It's never too early to start thinking about the holiday season and this calendar makes a great gift! I will be selling them online and in the local shows I'm participating in this fall (click here for a full schedule).

New Print to Share: Boston Skyline

First of all- Happy Summer! It's nice and hot here in Boston (at least it looks like it is from my office window) after a short but exciting thunderstorm yesterday. I had already gotten all of my stuff in the house after Sowa and was putting the last box away when it started, what timing. My dad, Apollo, and I watched the storm from our porch for a little while which I loved.

Today I'm posting a new print available now in my Supermarket shop. I'm going back to my Boston roots with this one, combining some cool, distressed typography and a skyline photo I took last summer from the Salem Ferry in the Boston Harbor.

It is an 8Γ—10" print (printed on Epson ultra premium luster photo paper) mounted in an 11Γ—14" mat board. Mat board is signed. It is available in other sizes as well, email me for details.

New Series, Mixed Media and Photography

Happy Boston Marathon Monday! And it's not raining for those runners (and spectators) which I think is a good thing. I would love to be out there with them but I'm stuck at work. Boo.

The good news is that I was a busy bee this weekend and started a little series of 6x6" mixed media pieces. They were inspired by traveling (still on that high from my Ghana trip), the outdoors, and the simple little moments in life. Aw.

Fishing Boat

Beach Chairs

They will all be available for sale in my Etsy shop.

New Items, Mini Note Cards

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend; it was gorgeous here in Boston and everyone in the city was outside appreciating the weather it seemed. I spent an exciting Saturday night crafting up a storm, something I haven't done in a long time, and it was GREAT. I'll be listing the items in my Etsy shop all week but here is a little preview-

"Morning Coffee" mini note cards (3x3")
Envelopes included!

New Pieces, "Town" and "Lighthouse"

While I haven't lived on Nantucket in almost 5 years now, I took some of my favorite pictures out there and my mind still wanders back on a regular basis. At the urging of one of my friends I started a series of photo transfer panels inspired by the island and I recently added a few to my online shops:

nantucket town"Town," 8x10"

"Town" was taken from the dock of the Steamship Authority (or maybe from the ferry itself) and the "Lighthouse" is Brant Point which sticks right out into Nantucket Harbor. I recently added these to my Supermarket and 1000 Markets shops.

All Caught Up and Restocking

I think I'm all caught up on my sleep from a wonderful but exhausting weekend at the Sowa Holiday Market. Two days, 16 hours of psyched up holiday crowds will do that to you but it was such a fun time and, I realized later, my very best show to date! I hit a milestone, the icing on the cake.

I will post pictures I took later this week (here are some from Sowa's flickr page) but in the mean time I wanted to let you know tomorrow I will be restocking my inventory at the Boston Handmade Downtown Gallery. Here's just a few of the items I will be dropping off-

Ornaments
3x3" ($8.00) and 2x2" ($5.00)

Framed Prints
5x7" matted prints in 8x10" frames, $35.00 each

Mini Framed Prints
So cute and ready to hang! $20.00 each

Large Framed Prints
9x9" square frames, $45.00 each

Fenway Park Ornaments

Too soon? Maybe. But I just got these handmade ornaments all photographed and wanted to share! This set of three is available in my Etsy shop right now:

They are printed on quality paper, coated in acrylic glaze (for slight texture and protection) and mounted on a tiny canvas. Attached is ribbon to hang on your tree or anywhere in your home! Size: 2x2"

New! Mini Cards

I made a few of these minis for my past couple of shows and they were a hit so I decided to sell them in sets of five in my Etsy shop. They are about 3x3" and envelopes are included. AND I'm not doing just Fenway pics. Really! It can be done!

They are a lot of fun to make; I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy making them :)

New Products: Coasters and Notebooks

They were created by my buddies over at Boston Coasters using some of my favorite Fenway Park photos and I am really pleased with how they turned out.

It's Open Season

I enjoyed this past weekend as it was my last free one for a while! And by "enjoyed" I mean matted and framed prints all day Sunday. It was nice to be busy after a one month break from shows, I have to admit. Here's what I've got coming up:

South End Open Studios

540 Harrison Ave
South End, 02118

Jamaica Plain Open Studios

Jamaica Plain, 02130
11am to 6pm

I've got a lot of new things to share so stop by!

A New Place to Find Me

This is cool! I recently signed up with the Boston Coasters guys (who I met when we were tent neighbors at Sowa Opening Weekend back in May) to be a "source" on their website. What does that mean? Well, they do all these things with photos- putting them on notebooks, mugs, coasters (hence the name) and they love having local photographers and designers give them their images to work with. They sell the products, designers get commissions, everyone is happy. Check out my source page and their other cool designers. Fun stuff!

Trying new things

I have been really interested in the concept of bookmaking recently. I love the idea of creating a notebook or journal by hand and using my own design as the cover. With the help of a tutorial on Photojojo, I made my first notebook using an image I thought would work perfectly-

I was happy with the outcome but still looking into getting them professionally printed. I love the "handmadeness" of these ones but I still need to test them to see how the hold up. So far so good!
